The long awaited release of Nokia’s new N8 is almost upon us. Showcasing the brand’s new Symbian ^3 operating system, the Nokia N8 has a vast array of features that will tempt even the most dedicated Apple iPhone fan. At the forefront of the huge list of features offered by the N8 is a twelve megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens and full 720p HDMI support for the recording and playback of home made videos. After recording and editing your movies via the handset’s on board software editing suite, you will be able to playback your movies in the comfort of your home by using a non-standard cable connected to your television, but what makes it more special is the ability to output Dolby surround sound through the HDMI cable also. A standout feature of the Nokia N8 is the large 3.5″ LCD display. It will support a resolution of 640 x 360 widescreen and will be able to display up to 16.7 million colors. Along with the touch screen system, it will also contain a compass, a proximity sensor, an ambient light detector and an accelerometer. The new Nokia N8 is certainly able to compete directly with the likes of the iPhone and Blackberry, with it’s mass of downloadable content from the Ovi Store in the form of widgets and applications, most notably in the shape of Web TV. Using Web TV the user can view movies available from providers such as National Geographic, E! Entertainment, CNN and Paramount. To summarize, the Nokia N8 promises to deliver the customer a very convincing rival of either the popular iPhone or Blackberry, containing features that bring it right to the forefront of modern mobile phone technology. Once it is released, there will be nothing to stop it helping Nokia maintain their status as the biggest mobile phone manufacturer on the planet.

Sony introduces their Bloggie Camera, or Camcorder. Actually it is both. The pocket sized camera takes 5 megapixel pictures or flip a switch and you can now record high definition videos in mp4 format. The mp4 format makes sharing your videos and pictures on the web and your blogs a breeze, thus the name: Bloggie.
The Bloggie also sports a USB arm to connect with your Mac or PC to upload the videos and charge your batteries at the same time. There is also a HDMI Cable (sold separately) that allows you to connect directly to your HDTV and view your videos on the television in Hi-Def.
The software is included in the camera and it makes editing your videos a snap.
The Bloggie also includes face recognition software to focus in on the face and steady shot technology for steadier pictures.
The camera also has a 5x optical zoom and a 20x digital zoom lens to move in on the action and the fun.
The best feature that fell short in The Flip is the swivel LCD Screen. Now you can swivel the camera screen and zoom in on yourself and your friends or make personal videos and not get the back wall or just the left side of your face.
There is also a tripod mount to attach your bloogie to a tripod for even steadier pictures.
The price is just right and won’t break the bank.
The Bloggie will make a fun little camera to capture your life and share with your friends.
